Trump's Young Voters Back Khamenei Hit but Fear Prolonged Iran War
A Reuters survey of young Trump supporters at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire reveals deeply conflicted views on the U.S. strike that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While many welcomed the assassination, significant anxiety emerged over the absence of a clear post-strike strategy, with one voter warning the U.S. could "stay in Iran for 30-plus years" at enormous domestic cost. Only 25% of Americans overall support the strikes, with 71% of voters aged 18-34 opposed. Trump's approval among men aged 18-29 has dropped to 33% in February 2026, down from 43% the previous year, suggesting the military campaign may erode support among a key demographic.
