Iran May Run Out of Ballistic Missiles Within Days; U.S. Weighs Conserving Air Defense Interceptors
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that the U.S. military may be days away from needing to conserve air defense interceptors as Iran continues launching attacks on American military assets across the Middle East, citing three unnamed senior Pentagon officials who said hundreds of advanced THAAD interceptors have already been deployed. Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine publicly disputed the assessment, insisting the U.S. has sufficient precision munitions for current operations, while separately noting Iran's theater ballistic missile launches have fallen 86 percent since the start of the conflict.
