IAEA: No Radiological Risk After Israeli-US Strikes on Iran Nuclear Sites
The International Atomic Energy Agency stated it sees no damage to facilities containing nuclear material in Iran and no radiological release risk, based on the latest available satellite imagery following Israeli-US airstrikes. Israeli forces claimed to have destroyed a covert nuclear weapons development facility on Tehran's northeast outskirts, with the Natanz nuclear facility also reportedly targeted. While damage was reportedly visible at two buildings near Isfahan's nuclear site, the IAEA emphasized no contamination risk or structural damage to nuclear material storage facilities at this stage. Russia separately expressed alarm that Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant faced potential threats, warning the bombing campaign was hampering the IAEA's monitoring capabilities.
