11-Year-Old Iranian Girl Killed by Shrapnel From Iranian Drone Strike on Kuwait

Elena Abdullah Hussein, an 11-year-old Iranian girl living in Kuwait, was killed by shrapnel from an Iranian drone while sleeping in her family's second-floor apartment Tuesday night. Her family had sheltered in the building's basement since Iran began retaliatory strikes on Saturday, but returned to their apartment when bombardment appeared to ease. Her younger sister sustained minor injuries while their mother was unharmed. Eight of the 13 regional deaths linked to Iranian strikes occurred in Kuwait, the highest toll among Gulf states, and hundreds attended Elena's funeral at Sulaibikhat cemetery in Kuwait City.
